Writing - For and against

For and against essay
A for and against essay, or a balanced argument, is a piece of text where you talk about the pros and the cons of a certain question. The structure is quite simple. Look at the structure below together with some examples:
Introduction
A short introduction to the topic, explaining what the situation is today and, may be, proposing a general question.
We all seem to depend on our phones. We take them everywhere and they have become an essential part of out lives. But are they as necessary as we think?

Arguments for
Two or three points in favour of the statement proposed.
One of the greatest benefits of mobile phones is that we can contact anyone, anywhere, anytime. If we get lost, we find the way. If we are going to be late, we can let our friends know. Another advantage is that we can access our e-mail on the go, so we don't need to be working on-site all the time. Finally, mobile communication has allowed people to become up-to-date with new technologies: nowadays, both children and grandparents have their phones.
Arguments against
Two or three arguments against the matter in question.
On the other hand, mobile phones and their use also have certain disadvantages.Think, for example, about the days when you could disappear for a few hours and "disconnect from the rest of the world". That is no longer possible. Also, many people nowadays think that mobile phones have managed to get into our lives creating the illusion that it is a necessary expense, and sometimes we spend more money on our phones than on basic household goods. Another point against // Another disadvantage of mobile phones is the fact that we have become so dependent on them that we suffer from acute anxiety every time we leave it behind.
Conclusion
A brief summary of the points described (grouping together the for and the against in a brief sentence) and, if you want, your own opinion.
To sum up, although / In conclusion, although mobile phones have improved the way we communicate, it is a fact that we rely too much on them and cannot live without one. In my opinion, we should make the most of this fantastic device while, at the same time, be careful with the use we make of it.
